Peter Sherrington
Since moving to Alberta in 1972, Peter Sherrington has been
actively involved in wildlife studies and environmental protection. In
1992, Peter was studying mountain bird ecology in the Kananaskis Valley,
and became aware of a major Golden Eagle migration through the Front
Ranges of the Rocky Mountains. Subsequently, with hundreds of volunteers,
Peter has mapped and studied this migration route, spending up to seven
months a year at the observation site. He has spoken and written
extensively on the migration. During the last decade he has conducted
several bird and other wildlife studies in the Mountains, Boreal Forest
and Arctic. Peter Sherrington is founder and President of the Rocky
Mountain Eagle Research Foundation, editor of the Western Mountains
Continental Flyway region for the journal Hawk Migration Studies, a member
of the British Columbia Field Ornithologists and the Raptor Research
Foundation, and Past President of the Alberta Wilderness Association.
