I am currently completing my second year of a
college diploma in Renewable Resource Managemnet at Lethbridge College,
which includes many courses that cover in depth material on North
American birds (zoology, wildlife biology, conservation biology, etc.).
I have been an avid bird-watcher alongside my grandparents since
childhood, and thoroughly enjoy spotting and identifying birds and bird
signs, as well as watching their behaviour. In fact, I can identify many
birds just by their song, and can immitate many of them myself.I
enjoy many outdoor sports in both the summer and the winter such as
canoeing, kayaking, hiking, climbing, biking, swimming, camping,
hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, and skating. My hobbies include
photography, painting (watercolor), crafting, renovating my home,
gardening, finding and collecting fossils, minerals and artifacts, plant
pressing, and viewing wildlife. Wow, that's a lot! I guess it could be
summed up to, "I love the outdoors."
But Back to the birds... I have a couple of home-made birdfeeders and
houses on my property, and try to add plants in my garden that benefit
them and the insects they feed on. Overall, I enjoy birds.
