Wings Over the Rockies
14th Anniversary Festival
May 3 - 9, 2010

Biodiversity: Web of Life

This year Wings over the Rockies is welcoming the challenge issued by the United Nations when it declared 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity to encourage increased awareness of the importance of biodiversity.

Wings is proud to feature Dr. Faisal Moola, the Director of Terrestrial Conservation and Science at the David Suzuki Foundation and adjunct professor of Forest Conservation at the University of Toronto.  His commitment to biodiversity ranges from campaigns to educate the public through numerous academic papers on ecology, conservation and environmental policy, to getting personally involved in conservation efforts like a land-use planning project in southeastern Tibet, or contributing to the protection of over 2 million hectares of temperate rainforest in British Columbia.

Join Wings and Dr. Moola in celebrating the abundance of wildlife in BC and in supporting the UN’s effort to focus on the importance of biodiversity.
