Want to take a really memorable garden tour? Nestled in the Rocky
Mountains just two hours from Banff is Windermere, famous for its hot mineral pools, golf
courses and ski hills that abound with wildflower walks. And just a few minutes from
downtown Windermere is Creekside Garden Tours and Tea House. Our garden is nestled in a Zone

Now that you know where we are, come join us for a garden
tour and refreshments.

Creekside Gardens actually includes 22 separate theme gardens. Our gardens
are designed to attract hummingbirds, butterflies, including monarchs, swallowtails, blue
azure's, Hummingbird moths and many more species.
Another delightful feature is the fragrant herb knot gardens, which
reads please "touch N' sniff" the herbs (not the gardeners).
The sunflower forest walk is a lively garden which features over 35
varieties of sunflowers, daisies, asters, rudbeckias, centaureas and marigolds to
complete this daisy-petalled picture with gorgeous mountain views all
around.
|
A series of lily and wildflower
hills converge in a cull-de-sac area that is ringed with a path from which all sides can
be viewed. This garden features over 400 unique species of lilies and ever-changing
wildflowers.
The Dewdrop Inn planted birdhouse is another charming sight.
A 50 year old Bing cherry tree towers over a grass garden filled with Bunny Tail, Vanilla,
Purple Panic, Golden Top, Dwarf Quaking, Snake and Blue Fescues.
|
Large islands show off low and high maintenance type gardening, with easy-care
perennial and exotics.
The rose garden features over 350 roses that perform throughout the spring,
summer and fall.
Three miniature rose gardens with over 75 varieties contain even more treasures.
Special favorites in this garden are apricot long-steamed Loving Touch
roses, mosses, micros, bi-colours and stripes.

Creating a sense of serenity
peace and tranquility. Natural mountain
water flows continuously from spring through fall into large pond and
waterfall besides the Japanese
Garden.
|
After the tour of the gardens, guided or self-guided, visitors
enjoy light dining and fresh picked berries.
See the quaint gardeners library and the gift shop offers
unique items.
Visitors may stay overnight in a guest suite on the garden grounds.
The botanic collection in the gardens represents more than 1,000 species and over 3200
genera.

The
instrumental spark leading to the establishment of Creekside Tours was brought about by a
close friend who commented that there was so much beauty here, why did we not share it
with others?
We are eternally grateful to many volunteers who generously support and help
with the work in these gardens. We believe that our library and gardens furnish the local
community with a distinctive educational centre, providing this amazingly beautiful region
with a truly unique place of lasting value.
