TOURS INCLUDE INSTRUCTION:
Instruction on the beach is included with each kayak and canoe rental.
Instructions include safety procedures and basic kayak/canoe entry/exit,
rudder control, peddle adjustment, proper paddling, rescue techniques,
equipment familiarization, weather information, navigational instructions
and safety issues
Our trips are fun and educational with a conscious respect for man’s
environmental impact on the delicate ecosystem.

Columbia
River Wetlands Tour
Guided (interpreter) Tour (2-3 hours)
With a first rate view
from your canoe, kayak or a 10-person voyager canoe, you will venture into
the fertile Columbia Valley Wetlands.
This 2 - 3 hour excursion takes you back in history to the findings of
native artifacts from 900 years ago. Learn of David Thompson, the
trappers, settlers, and miners, their route on the river, and their
establishment of transportation from Canal Flats to Golden by canoe,
barges and paddle wheelers. You will discover facts about the river and
wetlands, local birds, fish, reptiles and animal life in the pristine
beauty of the Columbia Valley Wetlands.
Rates: $39.00 per
person
When: Meet the
interpreter at 10:00 am for a 2-3 hour paddle.
Based on group size and
demand we will paddle either canoes or a Voyager (10 person canoe).
Kayaks are subject to availability

River / Wetlands Tour from Invermere to Radium Hot Springs
Self Guided Tour (3-4 hours)
On this 3 - 4 hour flat
water paddle from Invermere to Radium Hot Springs (15 km) you can spend a
leisurely morning or afternoon on the Columbia River exploring the local
waterways. The Columbia River Wetlands lure more than 250 species of
birds. Eagles, Ospreys and Herons are common site throughout the season as
are various species of wildlife (more info at "Wetlands

Viewing Tours by Kayak or Canoe Explore the world famous Columbia River
while honing your kayak or canoe skills, and learning from our naturalist.
See bald and golden eagles, osprey, hawks, kingfishers plus the occasional
bear, moose, deer, coyote, elk, and beaver along the way. Relax with a
gourmet lunch on an island in the marsh, and then carry on down the river
to Radium Hot Springs. No prior canoe or kayaking experience is required.
A moderate level of fitness is beneficial to enjoying the experience. Kids
must be six years old to come along and an adult must accompany children
under 12.

Gathering and Picnic Packages
Your family and friends can enjoy canoeing and river kayaking in the
picturesque Columbia Valley.
We can host groups up to
60 people.
Let Columbia River Outfitters help plan your family event by supplying the
equipment for your paddling adventure.
Our most favorite groups special is a 2-3 hour wetland paddle including a
BBQ on the shore or at the Canoe and Kayak Hut.
If booked in advance we also will bring
the equipment to a location of your choice and return at the end of the
day to pick it up.
